FAQ

Do you have a store where I can see your artificial plants in person?

Yes, we have stores in Stockholm at Karlbergsvägen 36 and Nybrogatan 48, and in Gothenburg at Vallgatan 26, where you can see and feel our artificial plants, trees and flowers in person. The stores are open Monday to Saturday. We also have a webshop at shop.redekoflowers.se.

How do you deliver artificial plants?

We deliver artificial plants with our own vehicle in the Stockholm area and the Gothenburg region, and on pallets via freight carrier to the rest of Sweden. For larger orders we often deliver directly to the customer ourselves over longer distances.

I’m an architect or interior designer with a project — how do we proceed?

Email project information, images, drawings and sketches to info@redekoflowers.se, and we’ll get back to you with proposals and a quote. We have extensive experience working closely with architects and interior designers on special projects.

What are the trunks of your artificial trees made of?

The trunks of our artificial trees are usually real dried natural trunks, or alternatively made of fibreglass. This gives the trees a natural appearance and a stable, durable construction.

Where are your artificial plants manufactured?

Our artificial plants and trees are hand-picked from selected suppliers in both Europe and Asia. Several of the trees are handmade in Italy.

How long do artificial plants last?

Artificial plants last for many years with normal indoor use. Wear and tear occurs mainly from external factors such as UV light, mechanical strain, or inappropriate placement — outdoor lifespan is shorter than indoors.

Can artificial plants be used outdoors?

Yes, we have a wide range of UV-protected artificial plants that can stand outside all year round — cypress, boxwood, bay leaf and phoenix palm are some examples. The UV protection means they don’t fade or turn blue in sunlight. Other green plants are mainly made for indoor use and will deteriorate faster if placed outdoors.

What are the advantages of artificial plants?

Artificial plants require no maintenance, light or water, never wilt and are suitable for allergy sufferers — while retaining their natural appearance year after year. They work in all environments, even dark spaces, and are a cost-effective, maintenance-free alternative to living plants. They are also never affected by pests.

Do your artificial plants look real?

Yes, our artificial plants and flowers look and feel real. Most are built with real dried tree trunks, and our real-touch flowers are waxed or silk-matte to feel natural to the touch. We regularly have visitors in our stores who are surprised to discover the plants aren’t real.

How large artificial trees can you deliver?

We have delivered palm trees up to 13 metres tall to IKEA Mega Mall in Moscow and nine six-metre-tall trees to Solna Centrum. We tailor shape and size to your needs — in practice there is no upper limit other than budget.

Do you also sell artificial flowers?

Yes, we have a large range of artificial flowers. Shop in our webshop or visit one of our stores at Nybrogatan 48 and Karlbergsvägen 36 in Stockholm, or at Vallgatan 26 in Gothenburg. We also offer businesses a bouquet subscription service.

How do you clean artificial plants?

Dust artificial plants with a feather duster about once a month, or as needed. For deeper cleaning, the leaves can be wiped with a damp cloth, or the whole plant can be placed in the shower and left to air dry.

What material are your artificial Christmas trees made of?

Our artificial Christmas trees are made from a combination of PE (polyethylene) for the hard needles and PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for the soft needles. PE is a more environmentally friendly material but produces a sparser appearance, while PVC gives a fuller, more realistic look.

Where can I find artificial plants in Gothenburg?

We have a store in Gothenburg at Vallgatan 26. You are welcome to visit us — we can also help with inspiration, consultation and delivery to Gothenburg and the surrounding region.

How can you tell the difference between real and artificial plants?

The difference is often minimal with modern artificial plants. They are built on real dried trunks with leaves in polyester fabric or PE plastic, and our real-touch flowers are waxed or silk-matte. From a distance it is almost impossible to tell the difference — even up close, touch is often needed to determine which is which.

Do artificial plants fade in sunlight?

UV-protected artificial plants don’t fade or turn blue in sunlight. Most of our green plants are UV-protected, and all outdoor plants are. For environments with a lot of direct sunlight, we always recommend UV-protected options.

Are artificial plants a fire hazard?

Our artificial plants are no more flammable than regular office or hotel furnishings. For environments with higher fire safety requirements, we offer flame-retardant artificial trees with protection class B, S2, D0.

Are artificial plants toxic to pets or children?

No, our artificial plants are not toxic to pets or children. The materials — PE plastic, polyester and dried wood — are non-toxic and safe for households with animals and children.

How are large artificial trees installed on site?

Large artificial trees are delivered in their containers and positioned using a pallet truck or forklift. For very large trees, our team installs them on site. We also offer anchoring and securing to the floor or ceiling if required.

Can you customise artificial trees to our specifications?

Yes, we can adapt height, shape, trunk thickness, crown density and container to your specific requirements. Contact us at info@redekoflowers.se with your wishes and we’ll provide a proposal.
